The Williamsburg Biannual is an artist-centric organization that mounts two exhibitions per year, allowing exhibiting artists to show a comprehensive body of work for an extended period of time. We love and support artists and designers, rolling up our sleeves and working alongside them to realize their creative vision: to debut new work, to reconsider and recontextualize early and existing work, to highlight and feature transitional pieces, to experiment and produce site-specific work. Exhibitions are primarily monographic or small group shows of two-to-four artists. Exhibitions are on view for approximately four-to-five months and complemented by related programs – music and dance performances, screenings, readings and talks. There is a four-to-six week hiatus in between exhibitions for installation / deinstallation.
