About Us
We are an artist-driven organization that believes in building an art world worth inhabiting.
Artwrld works collaboratively with artists to commission and produce projects that engage broad audiences and explore the emerging possibilities of blockchain technology for creative practice. We support artists throughout the entire process of making new work—from the initial concept to the final presentation—while fostering critical conversations about the issues driving digital art and culture.
Our mission is to create art projects that are thoughtful, challenging, and inspiring, and help artists advance their work and ideas in the space of web3.
Supporting Nonprofits
Every project we present benefits one or more nonprofit organizations, selected by the artist to receive a portion of each sale.
Because NFTs have the potential to distribute royalties automatically and in perpetuity, artists can use their work to channel funds intentionally and help build and sustain an art world they care about.
When used thoughtfully, we believe NFTs can make artworks more widely available, put artists more in control of how their work is produced and exchanged, and contribute to the numerous institutions that make artists and artworks possible in the first place.
How it Works
Every artwork presented by Artwrld is backed by an NFT, essentially a certificate of ownership and authenticity for digital art.
An NFT (non-fungible token) is a piece of code that establishes a digital asset, in this case an artwork, as a unique object created and owned by specific individuals. This code is written permanently and securely into a global record of digital transactions known as a blockchain.
