What’s Going On? surveys Davis’s paintings and works on paper from 2017 to 2026. Through layered compositions that combine disparate forms, symbols, and narratives, Davis creates what she calls an “inventive geography.” Her works examine race, history, and culture while exploring tensions between order and chaos, rationality and irrationality, and the systems we use to classify the world.
