Non-collecting contemporary art museum with free admission, founded by Alison Gass and opened in October 2022 at 901 Minnesota Street in Dogpatch, later moving downtown to the Cube. It champions risk-taking new work, debuting exhibitions by artists such as Jeffrey Gibson, Liz Hernandez, Masako Miki, and David Antonio Cruz. As of 2026 ICA SF has left its fixed home and operates as a nomadic, citywide institution, launching at the Transamerica Pyramid Center and planning The Stack, a vertical gallery at Dogpatch's Power Station, for 2027.
