Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture

Nonprofit cultural campus on a former US Army port in the Marina district, opened to the public in 1977 through the Fort Mason Foundation. Its 13 acres of historic piers and warehouses within Golden Gate National Recreation Area house over a dozen resident arts organizations, including Magic Theatre, BATS Improv, the SFMOMA Artists Gallery, and Greens Restaurant, plus galleries, studios, and festivals. It hosts large-scale public art, the FOG Design+Art fair, and year-round performances at 2 Marina Boulevard, still active as of 2026.
