*Worlds Gone and to Come* is the first two-person show of Wolfgang Paalen and Alice Rahon, who were married from 1934 to 1947. It gathers rarely seen paintings and works on paper, from Paalen’s fumage, drawn with candle smoke, to Rahon’s sand-infused, sedimentary canvases. Rooted in Surrealism yet driven by singular visions, the works treat painting as excavation, unearthing form, color and cosmic space.
