The show features Matisse loans from MoMA, Vassar College, and the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation, and never before seen pieces from Whitney’s personal collection. “Stanley Whitney Henri Matisse” brings together two artists who, across time, have each used color as a foundation for structure, emotion, and space.
