Private Frontiers explores the Cold War through contemporary photography, video, and installation. Artists Naeem Mohaiemen, Prajakta Potnis, TJ Shin, and Tiffany Sia draw on archives, broadcasts, music, and other media to examine decolonization, political conflict, and how media shapes our understanding of history and the present.

Their practice draws on plant biology, queer theory, and diasporic histories to examine how bodies, ecologies, and systems of power entangle. Often incorporating living materials, fermentation, and scent, Shin's work proposes kinship as a method for survival across difference.
