Matt Rogers' paintings explore the vibrant relationship between observation, memory, and imagination. Rooted in the landscapes and gardens of Northern California, his work transforms familiar natural forms into luminous, dreamlike environments through bold color, rhythmic compositions, and a tactile approach to paint. In this new body of floral-themed work, Rogers experiments with softer brushwork and expansive color fields, allowing blossoms and petals to dissolve and reassemble within atmospheric compositions. Flowers become colorful gestures: recognizable yet not tied to any specific species, forming dynamic fields of movement and color across richly textured surfaces.
