MATRIX: 50 Years of Experimentation is the first major group exhibition tracing the five-decade history of BAMPFA's signature contemporary art series. Founded in 1978 and one of the oldest artist-centered museum programs in the US, MATRIX has staged 290 solo projects by an intergenerational, interdisciplinary range of artists, from Ursula Schneider and Ree Morton to Paul Kos.
