Jacob Hashimoto transforms SFMOMA's free Roberts Family Gallery into a mesmerizing floating cloudscape built from thousands of hand-crafted kites of bamboo and Japanese paper. Blending sculpture, design, and environment, the installation — the largest work of Hashimoto's career — mixes more than 75,000 elements into a cloud canopy covering the gallery floor to ceiling and wall to wall.
