FRAGILE showcases Kimiyo Mishima (1932-2024) pioneering work in conceptual ceramics and Pop Art. Having abandoned painting around 1970, Mishima devoted herself to ceramic sculpture and large-scale multimedia installations that critique consumer culture and information excess. She replicated single-use items from flattened clay, incorporating silkscreened and inpainted newspaper pages featuring contemporary politics, art, music, and celebrity culture. Her work serves as a visual diary documenting societal change and the fragile state of the environment throughout her seven-decade career.
