*Collecting a Moment* is an installation of recent additions to OMCA’s collection that respond to current cultural and social movements. Works by Dalbert Castro, Katherine Sherwood, Tanya Aguiñiga and others sit beside historic objects like a 1940s dance costume and a megaphone used by activist Cat Brooks. It looks at how artists and activists in Oakland and California claim space and question dominant narratives.
