Jia Aili (b. 1979, Dandong, China) is a key figure in Chinese contemporary painting. He graduated from the Second Studio (New Representationalism) of the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang in 2004 and taught there until 2007, then moved to Beijing, where his breakout solo The Wasteland opened that year. His expansive canvases interweave landscapes, historical images, and abstract forms.
