Beaux-Arts fine arts museum in Lincoln Park, a three-quarter-scale replica of Paris's Palais de la Legion d'Honneur, given by Alma and Adolph Spreckels and opened November 11, 1924 to honor Californians killed in World War I. Part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, it holds European painting, sculpture, and decorative arts spanning 4,000 years, a celebrated Rodin collection including The Thinker, ancient art, and the Achenbach Foundation's vast prints and drawings holdings. It celebrated its centennial in 2024; open as of 2026.
