Founded in 2013 by Mark Slee and joined in 2015 by director Tova Lobatz, Heron Arts occupies a converted early-1900s brick firehouse in western SoMa. Programming runs in three strands, Exhibition, Community and Culture, connecting artist, audience and experience through gallery shows, local programming and cultural productions. The space is occasionally rented for private events.
