A renowned etching workshop and print publisher founded in 1962 by Kathan Brown, who died in 2025, and based in San Francisco since 1986. Crown Point invites leading artists to collaborate with master printers on intaglio editions, having published prints by John Cage, Richard Diebenkorn, Wayne Thiebaud, Chuck Close, Sol LeWitt and Julie Mehretu, among many others. Its studio, gallery and bookstore occupy 20 Hawthorne Street in SoMa, near SFMOMA, where it continues to exhibit and sell its published editions.
