With Feathers combines photographs and printed text developed as a diaristic response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Images of birds operate as emotional surrogates as the work moves from a search for tenderness to experiences of captivity, exile, and isolation. Produced across multiple countries, the project reflects the condition of displacement and living without stable citizenship from the perspective of a Ukrainian artist raised in Russia.
