Sir Isaac Julien (b. 1960, London) is a British artist and filmmaker who has spent four decades expanding the possibilities of the moving image. Rising to prominence in 1980s London, he makes multi-screen film installations, video and photography that combine poetic storytelling with critical explorations of cultural memory and the Black diaspora, foregrounding voices overlooked by official histories.
