*To Know the Dark* presents more than three decades of work by Kratz, who transforms seedpods, branches, bones, and other organic fragments into luminous resin compositions. Drawing on desert landscapes, memory, and experiences of illness and recovery, the works explore darkness and light as intertwined conditions of perception, mortality, and renewal. Recent series such as *Vanishing Light* and *Glimmer* introduce greater asymmetry and material unpredictability, reflecting both ecological change and an embrace of chance.
