Nino Mier Gallery presents THESPESIA GRANDIFLORA, José Lerma’s fourth solo here. Over thirty impasto portraits of Puerto Rican politicians, athletes, and cultural figures examine the island’s 128-year U.S. relationship. Named for Puerto Rico’s national flower (flor de maga), the title ironizes power slogans as broom-swept acrylic on burlap reduces faces to few strokes. September 9–October 17, 2026.
