Frank Hyder: Then and Now, 1970s & Today presents the artist’s rediscovered paintings from the early 1970s alongside recent works. Nearly 200 canvases, stored for decades, reveal Hyder’s early engagement with color, light, and everyday subjects. Known primarily for sculpture, he has recently returned to painting, producing new figurative works and painted constructions that merge observation with the sculptural sensibility developed throughout his career.
