Almine Rech New York presents The Sacred Circus – Suspended Myths by Mehdi Ghadyanloo. Drawing from his Tehran upbringing and experiences during the Iran-Iraq war, Ghadyanloo creates surreal, hyperrealistic paintings that evoke architectural and dream-like spaces. Using trompe-l’œil techniques honed in his public murals, he transforms flat surfaces into mazes, fenced-in areas, and metaphysical constructs, balancing memory, hope, and visual illusion.
