Lyles & King presents The Natal Lacuna, a solo exhibition by Ophelia Arc. Through intricate assemblages of paint, fiber, photos, and found objects, Arc constructs unsettling spaces—half refuge, half peril. Childlike symbols, medical references, and bodily imagery suggest a fragile, visceral embodiment. Inspired by feminist thought and Unica Zürn’s writings, Arc’s work reclaims illness and vulnerability as sites of self-creation, challenging binaries of safety, beauty, and strength.
