The Holding Vessel is a two-person exhibition pairing Nana Kuromiya and Derek Weisberg, two artists working with the vessel as a site of fragility and persistence. Kuromiya's layered oil and beeswax paintings evoke mythic, ecological worlds drawn from Japanese cosmology. Weisberg's ceramic sculptures carry grief and vulnerability, including participatory Wishing Wells activated by viewer offerings. Together, their works create a contemplative dialogue in which vessels—whether landscape, body, or form—become frameworks for reflecting on life’s cycles, giving fleeting experiences lasting presence.
