Nonaka-Hill presents the works of Japanese artist Key Hiraga (1936–2000), a self-taught painter who briefly engaged with the Narrative Figuration movement. Hiraga's career began in post-war Tokyo before he moved to Paris, where his radicalized environment influenced his art. Awarded the National Young Artist Award in 1964, Hiraga's paintings explore the tension between temptation and power dynamics, resulting in vibrant, hallucinogenic works that reflect his time in the provocative Pigalle district.
