The Eight Directions of the Wind features new site-specific installations by acclaimed British artist and author Edmund de Waal across three of The Huntington’s most iconic spaces. Combining porcelain, natural materials, and literary references, the works explore the movement of people, objects, and ideas across cultures and time. Responding directly to The Huntington’s collections and gardens, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on memory, migration, and the stories that connect places and histories.
