The Artist is Absent is a solo exhibition by Kevin Esherick presenting two new bodies of work, Homages and Ablation Studies. The exhibition marks the beginning of a year-long period in which Esherick relinquishes art making to an AI model trained on his own works. A performance element accompanies the presentation, extending the exhibition’s examination of authorship, absence, and creative delegation.
