Tacita Dean: FILM marks the first U.S. presentation of the artist’s landmark 2011 installation. Created as a tribute to analog filmmaking at a moment when photochemical film faced obsolescence, the 11-minute silent 35mm work transforms film itself into both subject and medium. Using revived silent-era techniques, Dean creates a monumental, vertically projected collage of landscapes, architecture, and everyday objects that celebrates the material beauty, craft, and enduring magic of analog cinema.
