HESSE FLATOW presents spinnerets, a solo exhibition by Gi (Ginny) Huo. Inspired by the spider’s thread-making organ, the works trace diasporic connections across Korea and Hawaii through drawings, steel sculptures, and film. Using archival imagery, references to wartime propaganda balloons, and family history, Huo examines migration, translation, and inheritance. Web-like structures and stitched images evoke fragile yet resilient lines of kinship across generations.
