*Sophia Bounou and Paul McDowall* brings London's Blond Contemporary to The Hole's Tribeca space for back-to-back two-week solo shows by two New York-based painters. French-Moroccan artist Sophia Bounou (October 22–November 1) transforms people and relationships into vibrant, densely layered visual worlds, followed by Paul McDowall (November 5–15), whose uncanny paintings capture the stillness of pools at night.
