Glenn Ligon’s *Coloring Book* paintings reunite for the first time in over 25 years. Created after Ligon invited children to color pages from Afrocentric coloring books of the 1960s and ’70s, then translated their markings into large-scale paintings, the series pairs exuberant color with a layered exploration of race, history, authorship, and the shifting nature of meaning.
