Silke Otto-Knapp’s (1970–2022) small paintings and studies on canvas fill Regen Projects’ viewing rooms, many shown for the first time. They highlight her watercolor-on-canvas method: layers of black washed, scrubbed, and scraped until figures emerge between control and chance. Subjects range from Modernist dancers to multipanel landscapes that yoke painterly artifice to theatrical scenography.
