Shaping, Pouring, Layering presents paintings, mixed media works, and works on paper by Hung Liu. Drawing from archival Chinese photographs, Liu employed shaped canvases, poured paper pulp, and layered resin to challenge the boundaries of painting and image-making. Her process emphasizes material transformation, surface, and light while reconfiguring historical imagery into tactile, irregular forms that foreground ambiguity and physical presence.
