SEX POLITICS RELIGION is a two venue retrospective of Wally Hedrick, spanning painting and sculpture from the 1950s onward. Rejecting a fixed style, Hedrick moved between assemblage, abstraction, monochrome, figuration, signage, and diagrammatic imagery, guided by ideas rather than formal continuity. The exhibition situates his work within the experimental art, music, and poetry scenes of mid century San Francisco.
