SAMDI: What We Carry is a solo exhibition of new paintings by the Miami-based artist at Stanek Gallery. Working through the human figure and portraiture, SAMDI often starts a canvas with spray paint before shifting across mediums, responding intuitively rather than illustrating a concept. The works revisit the warmth of a home left behind before political and social turbulence forced his departure, and what endures after displacement.
