Rudimentary Figures brings together children’s drawings from Rhoda Kellogg’s archive with works by contemporary artists to examine the act of mark making at its most basic. The exhibition considers scribbling as both visual and cognitive activity, resisting linear models of development. Across generations, lines appear as sites of control and release, where perception, memory, and invention remain in flux.
