Rachael Catharine Anderson's *Hidden Peril* presents new paintings of poisonous plants and mushrooms, made from direct observation over multiple sessions. Foraged specimens such as *Omphalotus illudens* are painted on grounds prepared with marble dust, pairing fleeting subjects with the permanence of stone. Anderson explores the shadow side of nature, where beauty and danger coexist, in the tradition of still life and memento mori.
