Power Stricture is an exhibition of sculptures by Kate Holcomb Hale and Gabrielle Shelton. Working in metal, sewn textiles, and paper clay, both artists address the physical and social structures that restrict women’s mobility and labor. Shelton’s steel forms render systems of power as unusable obstacles, while Hale’s pliable, architectural fragments reflect caregiving, vulnerability, and adaptive strength.
