The first solo exhibition in New York by Pauline-Rose Dumas, presented at the invitation of HESSE FLATOW, its title drawing on Gertrude Stein's famous line "Rose is a rose is a rose" from the poem Sacred Emily (1913). A recipient of the 2026 Anni & Josef Albers Foundation residency, Dumas is an artist of matières — textiles and metal dominate her practice, complemented by drawings, preparatory notes, and a narrative built on collected and printed images. Text by Sumiko Oé-Gottini. Presented in Tribeca, alongside Garden of Roses at HESSE FLATOW EAST in Amagansett.
