Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson (b. 1967, Copenhagen; lives and works in Berlin) presents a new site-specific installation at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
Reflecting his ongoing exploration of light, color, geometry, and environmental awareness, the installation engages playfully with the museum’s material and immaterial architectural qualities. A series of large-scale optical devices, designed specifically for MOCA Geffen, respond to both the structure and the shifting atmosphere of Los Angeles.
Visitors encounter a dazzling array of sensory experiences that use the principles of geometric optics to explore ideas of embodiment, perception, and participation.
