Off-Peak is a solo exhibition of recent paintings by Alex Kwartler. The works draw from accumulated moments of distracted attention, observation, and impression gathered over many years. Moving between figuration and abstraction, the paintings register nonlinear thought and subconscious perception. Shown together, the works form shifting relationships that emphasize contingency, association, and the open ended nature of meaning.
