Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world for nine consecutive years. Nature of Nordic Woman asks what lies beneath the country’s wellbeing, considering a relationship to nature that preserves a more intimate connection to humanity. Created by photographer Meeri Koutaniemi, psychologist Iida Mäkikallio, and performance artist Ida-Maria Martela, the exhibition combines photography, live performance, and discussion to explore emotional suppression in women and the reclamation of healthy anger, vulnerability, desire, and pathways back to vitality and creative power.
