Nancy Baker Cahill's FREE is a city-scale AR artwork above Alcatraz, viewable from the San Francisco waterfront through the free 4th Wall app. Participants worldwide send messages of solidarity—poems, blessings, stories—to people held in U.S. detention; each becomes a digital paper plane that turns into a bird joining a growing flock. The project turns a site of isolation into a visible archive of support.
