In her debut solo Chicago exhibition, Carolyn Castano presents paintings, watercolors and other media exploring the disappearing glaciers of the Colombian Andes. Drawing on sources including the Wiphala flag, pre-Columbian textiles, and colonial-era travelogues and maps, her vibrant, patterned works consider the legacy of colonialism, industrialization and capitalism on human life.
