Siyan Wong’s paintings portray immigrant Chinese women working in garment factories, restaurants, caregiving, and street vending. Using a self-taught style with decorative patterning and shallow space, she presents candid scenes of labor, resilience, and daily struggle. Formerly a workers’ rights lawyer, Wong draws on close contact with working communities to depict lives often overlooked. Mother Warriors includes her recent works alongside pieces by students and local artists reflecting immigrant experience.
