Mercedes Dorame: Deliquescence: Sites of Transformation is a multimedia installation that explores Indigenous history, memory, and the cultural significance of Southern California’s freshwater springs. Combining monumental photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and a soundscape of Tongva poetry, Dorame reimagines the landscape as a living archive of ancestral presence. Rooted in archival research and personal connection to place, the installation invites reflection on how histories are remembered, preserved, and carried into the future.
