This exhibition at Petzel presents paintings and drawings by Maria Lassnig from the late 1980s to early 2000s. Continuing her “body awareness” approach, Lassnig depicted bodily sensation, psychological tension, and shifting self-perception. Later works expand toward networks of energy, communication, and scientific imagery, while her “Drastic” paintings confront aging, power, and mortality with direct intensity. Together the works reflect her lifelong effort to explore existence through the body.
