Acana is Magdiel García Almanza’s first solo exhibition in New York and his debut with Sean Kelly. The artist transforms reclaimed acana wood from historic Cuban buildings into geometric sculptures that balance abstraction and figuration. Drawing on Cubism, modernism, and Cuba’s post-Soviet history, the works explore material memory, architecture, and the enduring relationship between body, form, and place.
