Machine Dreams: Rainforest is the inaugural exhibition of DATALAND, the Museum of AI Arts, located within Frank Gehry’s The Grand LA. Created by Refik Anadol Studio, the exhibition spans five galleries and 25,000 square feet, reimagining the museum as a space where artworks are continuously generated through the interaction of data, computation, and human presence. At its core is the Large Nature Model (LNM), an open-access AI trained exclusively on nature data from more than 500 million images sourced from institutions including the Smithsonian, Getty, iNaturalist, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and London’s Natural History Museum. Through immersive installations, the exhibition explores new relationships between technology, creativity, and the natural world.
